Comair

1 - Comair

Comair, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines and headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, was founded in 1977. The first scheduled flights were operated with three Piper-Navajo aircraft between the cities of Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit and Akron-Canton. True to its reputation as a leading innovator, Comair had a major impact on commercial aviation when it introduced regional jets to North America in 1993. Comair's introduction of regional jets and its rapid growth helped lead to expanded air service for communities across the nation. The company became the first regional airline to operate an all-jet fleet.

Today, Comair currently employs more than 6,700 aviation professionals and operates 895 flights a day to approximately 110 cities in the United States, Canada and the Bahamas. Comair utilizes an all-jet fleet of Canadair Regional Jet aircraft, consisting of 40, 50, and 70 seat variations. Current pilot domiciles include:

Atlantic Southeast Airlines

2 - Atlantic Southeast Airlines

Atlantic Southeast Airlines, (ASA) is based in Atlanta, Georgia, flying to over 100 destinations. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. All flights are operated as Delta flights with a 4000-series flight number. ASA operates nearly 900 flights each day. Domiciles:

The airline was established in March 1979 and started operations in June 1979. In 1999 Delta Air Lines increased its stake in Atlantic Southeast Airlines from 28% to 100%. It employs 5,809 staff (at January 2005). On August 15, 2005, Delta announced that it had entered into an agreement to sell ASA to SkyWest, Inc. for $425 million, and on September, 8, 2005, SkyWest announced that the acquisition had been completed.

The Atlantic Southeast Airlines fleet consists of 150 aircraft, to include 12 ATR 72-210, 103 Bombardier CRJ 200ER, and 35 Bombardier CRJ 700-701ER (as of September 2005).

Republic Airlines

3 - Republic Airlines

Republic Airlines, include subsidiaries Chautauqua Airlines and Shuttle America. Republic Airlines is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, was founded in 1973. The airline's primary mission was to operate under a code-share agreement with Allegheny Airlines operating as Allegheny Commuter. Initial scheduled operations from Jamestown to Pittsburgh and Buffalo were started with two new nine-passenger Beech 99 aircraft.

Today, Chautauqua Airlines employs more than 2,200 aviation professionals and offers scheduled passenger service on more than 600 flights daily to 70 cities in 26 states, Canada and the Bahamas through code-sharing agreements with four major U.S. airlines. The all-jet airline currently operates a fleet of over 90 Embraer Regional Jets consisting of ERJ-145, ERJ-140, and ERJ-135 variations.

All of its flights are operated as American Connection, Delta Connection, United Express or US Airways Express providing the airlines with portions of their regional service, including service out of their domiciles in:

American Eagle

4 - American Eagle

In 1984, American Airlines established American Eagle as its regional airline affiliate. Headquartered in Dallas, TX, the American Eagle network is the largest regional airline system in the world connecting passengers to and from American flights at its hubs and other key cities. It operates 293 jet and turboprop aircraft with over 1,400 flights a day and serves 132 cities throughout the United States, Canada, The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

The American Eagle fleet consists of the ATR-72, SAAB 340B, CRJ-700, ERJ-145, ERJ-140, and ERJ-135. American Eagle pilots are assigned to one of the seven domiciles:

Chicago O’Hare "Fly Quiet" Recognition Award for American Eagle

American Eagle Airlines is the winner of the first "Fly Quiet" Recognition Awards for category one airlines at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The award was given to American Eagle as the airline that contributed the most to achieving significant noise reductions during 2001.

Fortune One of "50 Best Companies For Minorities"

Fortune magazine named AMR one of the 50 "Best Companies for Blacks, Hispanics and Asians." American Airlines and American Eagle were the only commercial airlines to make Fortune's Top 50 list.

"Cacique Award"

For the third year in a row, American Eagle earned The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism's Cacique Award. This prestigious award is presented for achievement in tourism in the Bahamas or overseas. No other airline has won the Cacique more than once.

SkyWest

5 - SkyWest

Founded in 1972 to meet the needs of businessmen traveling between Salt Lake City and St. George, UT. During the first year of operations, 256 passengers utilized the service. SkyWest began a partnership with Delta in 1987 as one of their Connection carriers and today continues that partnership, operating primarily out of Delta’s hub in Salt Lake City.

SkyWest Airlines, whose headquarters are in Salt Lake City, UT, currently employs more than 11,000 employees across 154 cities in 43 states, 4 Canadian Provinces and Mexico. Operating nearly 1,800 flights per day for United Express, Delta Connection and Midwest Connect, SkyWest proudly flies the EMB 120, the Bombardier CRJ200, CRJ700, and the CRJ900. SkyWest Airlines was named the number one on-time mainland airline by the Department of Transportation 2005, 2004 and 2003, years in which they carried more than 40 million passengers combined.
